Bridge Module #5
Fighting for Heart
Are you tired, frustrated or stuck?
Leaders are tired and don’t know what to do about it. For far too long, they’ve built their lives and work around some version of the same message, “Get up, get out there, and deliver results.” No matter how hard they try, it is never enough — they are never enough. It’s exhausting, but what if it doesn’t have to be?
Fighting for Heart shows leaders how to harness the power of their hearts to transform the way they live, love, and lead. Drawing on his extensive research and experience working with high-capacity leaders, Dr. Rob Murray offers individuals, teams, and organizations a practical roadmap for recovering their hearts using the Heart-Engaged EQ System.
The Heart-Engaged EQ System will help leaders integrate their head (IQ) with their heart (EQ) to create lasting transformation, deepen their connection with themselves and others for greater effectiveness, and embrace their meaning and purpose to effect positive change.
Learn & Grow
2. Read & Discuss
Click Here to download and read Chad Spencer’s Foreword in the book, Fighting for Heart and explore the questions below.
Which part of Chad’s message resonates or stands our the most for you and why?
How do you feel challenged by what you have read and what will you do about it?
How would you describe the emotional health and attentiveness of your team and culture? What is working and what needs attention?
3. Integrate & Explore
How do you feel? The question can be a strange one for many folks. It beckons us into places we don’t fully understand— places that are often intimidating and sensitive. And really, what’s the point? There is work to be done and it’s not like we can change these pesky emotions anyway!?
What if you could become more emotionally intelligent by learning how to pay attention to what is happening inside of you and saying it out loud? Let’s give it a try.
Q: WHAT ARE YOU FEELING?
Write down as many of the 12 feelings that surface for you right now.
Isolate two or three of your feelings and expand on what each. What may each feeling be trying to tell you?
Identify one step you can take towards processing that feeling in a more healthy constructive way.
4. Apply & Practice
Remember, every module will end with the offer for you to take this work further in some way.
